History
From the Red Bird Mission Website:
Red Bird Mission was founded in 1921 in the southeastern corner of Kentucky to provide education and Christian evangelism ministries to residents of the area. The Mission was started by the Evangelical Church on a small piece of property, at the confluence of Cow Fork and the Red Bird River. The story of Red Bird is one of deep faith in God. Red Bird Mission was born in answer to prayer. It is a story of gracious outpouring of prayer and means by the church.

How You Can Be Involved
- Pray: Please pray for both Red Bird Mission as they continue to serve in Clay County, KY and for CSC as we bring volunteer groups each Spring.
- Go: CSC usually brings a group to Red Bird Mission each Spring. This trip is either over Spring break (mid March) or the week after graduation (early May). Joining the CSC Red Bird trip is a great opportunity to serve Christ by serving the poor and to get connected with other students at CSC. If you are interested, fill out the form below!
- Give: There are two ways you can support Red Bird financially: 1. If you feel so led, donate to Red Bird directly on their website or 2. sponsor a CSC student by paying part or all of their way. If interested in sponsoring a student, please reach out to one of the staff via email.
- Grow: A great way to support Red Bird Mission is by educating oneself on the difficulties of living in rural southeastern Kentucky. There are many unique challenges related to weather, water acquisition, healthcare, education, and more. By growing in your knowledge of such issues, you are equipping yourself for further involvement and service in the future! Another way you can support Red Bird (and other mission organizations) is by growing in your love for the poor and needy. A great way to do this is reading the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) making note of every time Jesus cared for such people. It may surprise you!

Student Testimonial
Josh Stinson, 2020 and 2021:
"I went to Red Bird twice and each time brought separate, special experiences. Some of my favorite parts were seeing how God used the ministry to impact the local community and families in a massive way and how the community school was able to minister to children while providing a quality education. The fellowship was very enjoyable, both with people inside and outside of CSC. Kaylee [Josh's now wife] and I also grew close over my second trip to Red Bird, so it was pretty impactful in that sense as well. Also, I have to plug the talent show because that was super fun (Uncle Pino... if you know you know)."
