History
From PBT's own webpage, "Pioneer Bible Translators was founded in 1976 in order to mobilize churches to send missionaries who would use Bible translation and literacy as strategies for church planting and church growth. We will follow the Spirit’s lead to fill the gaps in the Bible translation movement so that we and our partners will see churches with Scripture transforming every language group on earth by 2050."
CSC's Involvement with PBT
Over the course of our existence, CSC has had several close personal relationships at PBT. Whether that is through the Davenports and Maple Avenue Christian Church or interns like Cody Clair or staff members like our very own alumni, Jeremy and Jen Hummiston (Hummy). In 2018 Barry Reed led the very first service and education trip to PBT under the thoughtful and dedicated leadership of Hummy. Allison, Maureen, Adeyemi, Jason, and Marcus got to serve PBT while learning at the feet of missionaries. In January of 2022, Avery and Shannon Graham (Bishop), A.K.A "Shantern," brought another group of stalwart students to learn at the feet of missionaries. If you can find Hummy in our 2022 photos, you probably know him very well. We look forward to our next PBT trip, set for the winter break of the 2025-2026 school year!

How You Can Be Involved
- Go: I would love to invite you to join us when we return to PBT!
- If you are a student, an alumni, or a member of a supporting church and you would like to attend, fill out the form at the bottom of this page.
- Prayer and fasting
- Give: You can give directly to PBT here:
- You can also give to our next PBT trip, coming up in the school year 2026-2027. Your support of our mission trips and our students is always appreciated. Students will be required to pay around $200, which will be subsidized by $2 dinners on Sunday nights and Trivia nights in the Fall and Spring. You can give on our give page, by check with PDV support in the memo line, or with cash in person. All donations are charitable gifts as CSC is a registered not-for-profit in Illinois and under the IRS by virtue of being a religious center.
