History
Casas Por Cristo has the mission to build and serve. They support local pastors to work with families, and then they have volunteer groups come in and build these families a home. They began building in 1993 in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. They now also serve in Ciudad Acuña, México; San Raymundo, Guatemala; Santiago, Dominican Republic; Chinandega, Nicaragua; and Marcala, Honduras. They have provided over 6,500 families with homes throughout the years, and are dedicated to meeting the physical need of better housing as a way of also meeting the spiritual need for Jesus Christ.
CSC's Involvement with Casas
CSC has had the privilege of attending Casas Por Cristo builds from the very beginning. Our director at the time, Charlie Ferguson, led the first CSC build in 1993, right after Casas was founded. CSC has helped build 28 houses in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico since then.
Our Last Trip
We took a group of 16 people (10 students) to Ciudad Juárez, Mexico in December of 2024. We had the privilege of working alongside a Casas team to build a home in 3 days for a very kind family. This was the first time some of our attendees had been out of the country or gone on a missions trip, and we were so blessed to work alongside this family and Casas team. We also got to stop at two national parks in new Mexico on the way and make some memories as a team.
