"The Reading Center facilitates the nationwide America Reads program. The goal of the America Reads program is for each child in America to be able to read independently by the third grade. The university has a team of coordinators and tutors who assist Macomb students, from prekindergarten through 6th grade, to improve their reading skills.
WIU students serve as tutors for this after school program. Tutors perform one-on-one work with individual students, group work, and class activities."
 

Hugo is a child resident of Niños de Mexico orphanage outside Mexico City. CSC students are financially supporting his expenses at Niños.
